Ladies, listen up!

Come January 2008, when the King of Shoes Manolo Blahnik reveals his Spring/Summer 2008 collection, look out for designs of one of the most unexpected pairings in the fashion world. For Blahnik’s collection includes Finland’s design powerhouse Marimekko’s design of rebellion - the Mini Unikko pattern! In 1964, in protest to Marimekko founder, Arrni Ratia’s insistence that there be no floral patterns in Marimekko, Majia Isola designed the Unikko pattern. It became a rage and one of Marimekko’s most recognizable patterns.

Blahnik’s collection will showcase footwear inspired by Turkish architecture in Marimekko fabric in both the famous Unikko pattern and the graphic BonBon pattern. Shoes hit Blahnik stores in London and New York in January 2008!
