Disney has launched its range of 34 bridal gowns inspired from some of their famous animations including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Beauty and the Beast.
Kirstie Kelly has designed the entire Disney Fairy Tale Wedding collection. Priced between £755 and £1,500, the dresses are proving to be very popular ever since they went on sale in the US from June this year.In Britain they will be available from early 2008.
Bridal couples can even choose a Disney-themed wedding, including rides in a Cinderella carriage and appearances by Mickey and Minnie Mouse in formal attire. Though the packages start at £2,000, the average is about £13,500.
Jim Calhoun, executive vice-president for global apparel at Disney Consumer Products, says,
we are enticing them to step up without breaking the bank. If it really is the lifestyle opportunity we think it is, then it opens up possibilities beyond the day of the wedding.
With the wedding collection, Disney hopes to tap into the market which consists of the older audience which loves Disney movies.
In the near future, depending on how successful this wedding collection is, Disney hopes to introduce other Disney Princess-branded fashions and home furnishings for adults.
