Luxury designers today are increasingly using material from the wine industry, such as wine stoppers, corks, plastic stoppers and other closures to create fashion garments.
The whole idea started with the furniture maker and architects boosting up the use of cork in floorings, fancy wallpapers and now latest in the row is fashion products.
Designers today are busy transforming this stiff piece of material into a flexible fabric, and tailoring exquisite and elegant looking clothes out of it.
Stuart Weitzman unveiled in his 2006-spring wardrobe a $335 handbag with a very much out-of-the world appeal - ‘a supple and suede-like feel’. He has even designed sexy cork footwear’s for women.
Anyone who would love to experiment with this latest innovation can just have a look at the natural cork women’s footwear and the stunning dresses too.
