What is truly a stroke of genius is when a designer duo of international repute dismiss all the supermodels and runways at their disposal to showcase their collection in a delightful and probably the world’s largest self-created dollhouse! This arrant beautiful dollhouse offers its most dramatic view when you stand on the upstairs balcony and take a panoramic view of the house that Victor & Rolf have built with the Dutch architect, Siebe Tettero.

In an attempt to make it narrative, they took the most prominent icons of fashion and reworked them into miniatures. It took months to morph the porcelain faces of the little dolls into icons like the actress Tilda Swinton with her alabaster skin and russet hair!

Presently housed in the London’s Barbican Art Gallery, this dollhouse is a piece of inspiration where two designers listened to their hearts and presented their collection in an unprecedented fashion. They present it in a Dollhouse that has a graceful structure and Palladian proportions where miniature versions of 15 years of fashion fill the series of rooms on not one but three levels!

The comparison has been shown between a red gown worn by a doll and a model and against the background of this dollhouse, the doll is no less than a supermodel and the touch of innocence makes us travel light years back into an era where pouts only meant being angry!
