Imagine bumping into someone wearing one of these. You would be completely freaked out, won’t you? Well, that’s precisely the reason why the British politicians, supported by former Prime Minister Tony Blair and children’s charities, are demanding a ban on these sinister looking jackets which could scare the living daylights out of some people. Nicknamed as burqas for men by a British newspaper, this jacket, made by the company Criminal Damage, was originally designed to keep the wearer warm as it completely covers the head and has inbuilt goggles.
While some people think that it is completely irresponsible for companies to come out with products which would definitely top a ruffian’s or a rowdy’s must-have list and wants it banned, the youngsters seem to think otherwise. While some British shopping centers have banned the jackets, others find it tough to keep up with the demand. Marc Chapman, a shop owner, reportedly said that these jackets are selling like hot cakes. He sold around 40 jackets in a fortnight and what’s more; even girls are getting in line to buy one of these in spite of his being a men’s store.
