Riccardo Tisci’s much acclaimed brand Givenchy has already rippled waves in the fashion industry. He always comes up with unique and fresh concepts. Look for instance, his fall/winter 2008 collection. One can easily notice the intricate work and the patterns ornating the apparel. It is clear that he had in his mind the cathedrals and monuments of Europe while drafting his designs. One cannot help but notice the interesting hexagonal and structural patterns in the dresses. In Tisci’s own words, ‘Gothic Latino’ seems to be his inspiration. Well, the gothic look might not dominate his designs much but the Hispanic influence sure does. Whatever be the source of inspirations, his designs are marvelous and gives away a tinge of classicism.
