Of late, organic has become a kind of status symbol, and the fashion industry has got hip to this trend. Eco-friendly, sustainable style has gone mainstream, and many fashion designers have found their means to marry style with eco friendly fabrics.
Edun, the clothing line by Bono’s wife, Ali Hewson, is 30 percent organic, and is constantly striving to hit that 100 percent mark. Los Angeles designer Karen Craven’s line, Burning Torch, matches organic fabrics with vintage to create quirky, original, super feminine pieces.
Buying organic is the latest interest of the money quipped people. Especially when the trend has got thumbs up by the celebrity clan, I think it now it has to do less with the environment and more with the latest trend.
The word “organic” is now an adjective that, once attached to the word, it transforms into an exotic political statement.
