Detmar Blow is planning to form a foundation that will be solely responsible for taking care of his late wife, Isabella Blow’s collection of hats who died due to drug overdose at the age of 48, on May 7. Isabella had recently discovered that she suffered from cancer and for the same reason, tried committing suicide many times.
Blow, the fashion director of Tatler magazine, was responsible for kick starting the careers of Alexander Mc Queen. Sophie Dahl and Philip Tracey.
On the plan for setting the foundation Detmar said:
Issy was a walking art form. I’m hoping all the people she helped in her life will cough up some money to get this up and running.
Isabella’s several trademarked hats are presently on a display in St Petersburg and it is also expected that they will be shown in New Zealand, Venice, Istanbul and New York before they finally return to the UK.
Detmar and Isabella’s sisters are also giving a thought for a new museum that would be dedicated to her. It would exhibit her huge collection of designer and couture clothes and shoes alongwith her headwear.
