Katherine Hamnett gave her honest views about the glitzy fashion industry and she did not hold back when she blatantly blasted the entire industry.
The legendary designer was least concerned when she described the industry as, ‘full of personality disorders, airheads, and d**kheads.’
The designer complained that Italy, where she worked for 30 years doesn’t have any professional, learned designers. She added,
People like Naomi Campbell saying they’d never wear fur and they get offered £2,000 to walk down the catwalk and it all goes out of the window.
She revealed that she had no plans of retiring and her ambitions stretch much beyond clothes. She said that she wanted to build a concentrated solar-powered, low-tech power station in Africa. The ambitious fashion designer also wants to undertake a project related to reforesting the desert by concentrating solar power.
Although, the designer has a huge fan following in the fashion industry, I wish her all the luck for her eco-friendly ventures.
