The fashion capital of the world witnessed yet another set of new trends in the past week. A week that started off with nearly a hundred signatures in the French capital for its proposals for the autumn-winter 2008/09. Indian designers like Manish Arora and Rajesh Pratap Singh were able to leave their marks, with the former presenting woman in a warrior avatar the latter debuted with emphasis on black leather. The Korean celeb - Lie Sang Bong presented his collection calling it the symphony of volumes. Chinese designer Frankie Xie presented women as confident and chic in mini skirts, tight pants and tunics.

Balmain stole the show with his collection presented as an ode to style and the leader of The Pretendrers, the great Chrissie Hynde. Christophe Decarnin, creative director of Balmain boasted of having Kate Moss, Audrey Tatou or Lindsay Lohan as their buyers. Carine Roitfeld, editor of the French edition of Vogue, described the work of Decarnin as “a parade for the girls of this generation.”
