Upmarket fashion house Chloe has named little known Swedish designer, Paulo Melim Andersson, its chief designer.
Andersson, 34, has joined Chloe after a seven-year stint at Italian fashion company Marni and replaces Phoebe Philo, an acclaimed British designer who left Chloe earlier this year.
“We are thrilled to have Paulo join us and look forward to him becoming a part of the Chloe design legacy,” said Chief Executive Officer Ralph Toledano.
The announcement comes just a week after Paris fashion week, in which Chloe showcased clean lines, with prim schoolgirl coats and Peter Pan collars, and featured embroidered patterns of stone and gilt beads.
Sales of Chloe have doubled this year.
Past designers at Chloe have included Karl Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney.
