Yes ladies you can wipe the shock off your powdered noses, the cute Kitty that has adorned all your cute bags and jewelry ever since you were a little girl will now be featured on T-shirts, bags, watches and other products made for young men as well.
Tohmatsu revealed that that the usual bubble-head shape of Hello Kitty was altered slightly to make it cooler and more rugged for men in their teens and early 20s. (A rugged Hello Kitty? What is this world coming to?)
Hello Kitty is one of Japan’s most famous mascot characters and can be seen on everything- from erasers and school bags to diamond jewelry. And that may just have been the biggest motivation behind Sanrino developing Hello Kitty items especially for men.
The Hello Kitty Men range will retail in Japan by January and will shortly be made available in the U.S. and other Asian countries.
Good for you boys, but I’m devastated. I think I’ll go curl up with my little Hello Kitty bag right now!
