Dior’s tagline reads, J’adore! Do I really love Christian Dior, or not? For it has certainly disappointed the wits out of me this season with its repetitive collection for Summer/Spring 2009! It is nothing but a sad copy of the last season’s collection and something gives me the idea that Designer John Galliano hasn’t done much path-breaking for he keeps going back to his Latin American roots for inspiration. A bunch of flounce, animal prints, sombreros and Mexican spin in pleated skirts doesn’t quite justify the magic one associates with CD. What earned brownie points for the show were some offbeat circular woven basket bags but on the whole, this collection fell short of expectations and left the audience wanting more! May be Galliano should rethink awards from Savannah College of Art and get in touch with his creative best ASAP!
