Being straight is fashionable this spring...I’m talking about your hair.
Led by Reese Witherspoon who sported ironed tresses at the Golden Globes, the Oscar-night red carpet kicked the straight hair trend. Everybody ranging from Witherspoon Nicole Kidman and Beyonce to Gwyneth Paltrow, Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett-Smith flaunted their straightened curls.
Almost all the major design houses including Valentino, Fendi, Hermes, Burberry, Prada, Versace, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Chanel and Gucci have done print campaigns with models sporting straight hair.
Celebrity hair stylist Oscar Blandi said,
It’s a recycle, but it’s definitely happening. Straight is coming back strongly. It’s straight, but it’s a different straight. It’s got a silky texture. It’s not flat. There’s much more body. This is a trend that’s going to carry on for a while.
Tim Rogers, stylist and spokesman for Charles Worthington hair products and salons explained that the straight hair trend this year would go better with side parting than middle parting.
Unlike the past when the hair was stick straight, this year’s hair has body, movement and shine and the best part is that they are very easy to carry.
