Forget red or yellow, evergreen black is the hottest color of the season.
A recent survey conducted by www.missbutterfly.co.uk revealed the obsession of British women with the color, which constitutes a whopping 41 per cent of their wardrobe. On an average, a woman has 110 items of clothing in her wardrobe, of which 45 garments are black. The poll conducted on 2,500 women, revealed that averagely, women own three pairs of black trousers, a pair of black jeans, three black skirts, two black dresses, six black jumpers, 12 black tops, five black coats and 13 pairs of black shoes and boots in their closets.
More than a third of participants admitted that they wore black just because it goes with everything. One in five felt that the color was more flattering than other shades. 15 per cent of owned up that their partner regularly tells them to abandon the signature shade.
The poll also revealed that, women occupy almost 77 per cent of the average shared wardrobe. A shocking 92 per cent confessed that they had certain clothes in their wardrobe they would never wear. The average female has a wardrobe clear out every three and a half years; however, the oldest item of clothing might be 11 years old.
