The ponytail, considered a cute style statement is sashaying down runways and making its way on the red carpet.



The 2006 ponytail is casual looking, but neat and polished. For some it is the last resort on a bad-hair day.



However, the style is back in a big way.



Hollywood too is seen ponytailing. Keira Knightley has been seen in a soft, sexy version with wisps of hair around her face, Chinese actress Ziyi Zhang prefers a sophisticated, tightly pulled-back ponytail and Gwyneth Paltrow is known for a loose, easy, feminine take on the style.



Hair stylists recommend doing it with dirty hair as it makes it easier to style and hold a ponytail in place. However, if you can’t stand dirty hair, you may use abundantly available styling products.
