And I always thought swimsuits revealed much more than they conceal. Not these, it seems. Me talking about the futuristic swim suit the Australian swimmers will be wearing at this year’s Beijing Olympics. The public got the first peek at them in University of New South Wales, Sydney, recently. The unveiling was a much star-studded affair, with Grant Hackett and Leisel Jones among many other celebrities adorning the event.
Now about the swim suits themselves. With space-age as the theme, the Speedo LZR Racer suits are seamless and boast five per cent less passive drag than the Speedo FS-PRO which was launched just under a year ago. They are skin-hugging as all swimsuits are and black. Much hard work and research has gone into the designing of the swimwears, with Speedo having worked with NASA, the Australian Institute of Sport and the University of Otago. Hackett gushed,
It is the biggest evolution in the sport in terms of swimwear.
